1. AML Mate is a tool, not advice

AML Mate is an information and document-preparation tool based on AUSTRAC's publicly available guidance and Starter Kits. It does not constitute legal, financial, or compliance advice, and using it does not make you compliant. AML Mate, operated by Mark Chen trading as AML Mate (“we”, “us”, “our”), helps you prepare and organise your own AML/CTF program. It does not decide, on your behalf, what the law requires of your business.

2. No professional relationship

Using AML Mate does not create a lawyer–client, accountant–client, adviser–client, or any other professional or fiduciary relationship between you and us. We are not your AML/CTF compliance officer, lawyer, accountant, or consultant, and we owe you no professional duty of care. Nothing on the Service should be treated as a substitute for advice from a qualified professional who has reviewed your specific circumstances.

3. AI-generated content is for reference only

Parts of the Service use artificial intelligence to help draft, summarise, or check documents. AI-generated content can be incomplete, out of date, or wrong, and it is provided for reference only. It is not a review or sign-off by a qualified person. You must read, verify, and (where appropriate) have a qualified professional check any AI-generated output before you rely on it or submit it to AUSTRAC.

4. You remain responsible for your compliance

You are solely responsible for your own compliance with the AML/CTF Act and all AUSTRAC obligations. We do not guarantee any particular outcome, including that any program, report, or assessment generated with the Service will be accepted by AUSTRAC, will satisfy your obligations, or will prevent regulatory action. We strongly recommend you consult a qualified AML/CTF compliance professional, lawyer, or accountant before submitting any compliance program to AUSTRAC, particularly for complex business structures. To the extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for any penalties, fines, losses, or regulatory action arising from your use of, or reliance on, the Service.

5. Not affiliated with AUSTRAC

AML Mate is an independent product. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, certified by, or approved by AUSTRAC or any government agency. References to AUSTRAC and its guidance are for information only.
